Our Year 11 Philosophy students had a recent visit from School Liaison Police Officers, Brooke and Clare, from the Youth and Crime Prevention Command, as part of their law, morality and ethics unit. As well as trying out the cuffs, the students learnt more about youth crime, violence, and anti-social behaviour in NSW and the role of the police in these issues. The class had some excellent questions for the visiting officers and felt that the content was relevant and pitched at the right level. In addition to the educational value, the students were reminded that the police are responsible for keeping the community safe, and that they welcome interactions with young members of the public.
