Our group is directed towards children older than Playgroup age, those that are already attending a Shearwater Pre-school program or those needing a bridge between the two.

Daily routine
Our objective is to provide daily activities in a home-style environment with a strong emphasis on creative play and interaction. For example, the children assist with the full preparation of crunchy bun making - from adding the yeast to eating them for morning tea - or we dig in the garden together and plant new seedlings, fill a sock with fleece to create another hobbyhorse or begin the process of cream cheese making. The children help clean up after themselves, washing their own dishes and packing away their play things. The day is casual and relaxed and the children are free to move in and out of activities as they please. Parents may stay or leave, as they wish.
