Shearwater provides a limited number of scholarships for new students whose families would otherwise be unable to afford a Shearwater education. The scholarships, which cover up to 50 per cent of tuition fees, are decided on the basis of merit and are reviewed by the Shearwater Board biannually.
Former Shearwater students will be eligible for scholarships a minimum of 12 months after they were last enrolled at the School.
Scholarships awarded to a child of Primary School age will cease at the end of Class 7 and for High School age children, at the end of Year 12.
The fees of scholarship students are paid out of Shearwater’s endowed scholarship fund, and the school welcomes donations from members of the community who wish to bring the gift of Steiner education to a child who otherwise would not receive it.
At the start of 2016, Shearwater’s Scholarship Program is fully subscribed. Prospective applicants can submit the form below, along with the requested supplementary documentation, to be placed on a waiting list, and will be contacted if a place should become available.
