After a grey start to the morning, the weather gods smiled on Mullumbimby last Saturday for Shearwater's annual Spring Fair, 'Threads of Life'. Big and little hands alike busied themselves weaving garlands, dipping candles, fossicking for crystals and painting rainbow flags. Meals were shared and voices raised in song.
A rapt crowd enjoyed music by Shearwater students throughout the day, including the Spring Fair Busking Competition, which unearthed some amazing talent from schools around the region, including Cape Byron Steiner School, Byron High School, Nimbin Central School and Hinterland Christian College, and culminating in a performance by Gabriel and Cecilia.
Big shout out to all the parents and students and staff who threw themselves into the task of staging such a successful fair, and especially to Michael Schwager, impresario extraordinaire, and Jaquelyn Atkins, motivator of all those those wonderful donors to our Spring fair raffle.
