Term 1
Bush Dance
An evening of multicultural bush dance performed by the Primary classes. This festive foot-stomping, toe-tapping, come-along-and-dance-together marathon is accompanied by a teachers’ band and involves a shared meal on class verandas. CPRs are asked to help Class teachers with coordinating the meal and communicating with parents.
Term 2
Winter Festival
Shearwater’s Winter Festival is a highlight of the School year, in which the whole School community comes together to celebrate the rebirth of the light, with the passing of the Winter Solstice - a time to share in the passing of the old year into the new. Students will remain at school in the afternoon and CPRs are asked to coordinate a shared meal for their class. Teachers will communicate further details of this event, during Term 2.
Term 3
Spring Fair
Spring Fair is the School’s major fundraising event of the year – an event much anticipated by the wider community. Each class will have a stall on the day, coordinated by the CPR and class parents. Year 10 and 12 CPR Michael Schwager is the Spring Fair Coordinator. A CPR morning tea early in Term 3 will focus on planning for this event.
Term 4
Wearable Arts Performance Event (WAVE)
Wearable Arts is a major annual event in Shearwater's performing arts calendar, showcasing costumes created by Shearwater students, staff and the wider community, in a highly professional, choreographed production that encompasses design, music, dance, drama and technology.
